GECA 25-2011 v2 - Floor Coverings. Recognised by GBCA at Level A.
This standard is applicable to a range of floor coverings and carpet underlays that are laid on top of a foundation of concrete or wooded beams, and are not part of the building structure. Includes materials such as parquet, wooden planks, engineered wood products, bamboo, cork, rubber, vinyl and linoleum that are fixed to the floor and laid on top of an underlying foundation of concrete or wood beams. This standard does not include floor coverings that are applied in a liquid state.
The GECA 25-2011 v2 Floor Coverings Standard has superseded GECA 25-2005 and draft 25-2010 v2 standard.

GECA helps develop new ISO 20400 standard
ISO20400 - the first international guidance standard for sustainable procurement - is in development by ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation), and the latest round of discussions to review the draft of the standard drew to a close earlier this month in Sydney. GECA was involved in contributing to the development of the standard.
Welcome back: Embelton Flooring
We're pleased to welcome back Embelton Flooring, who have recently achieved GECA certification for two flooring underlay products! Their Hush Platinum Polyethylene Underlay and ImpactaMat Acoustic Flooring Underlay are both certified under our Floor Coverings standard, meaning they have a lower environmental, health and social impact.

Collaborate, Innovate, Celebrate: GECA's event in-depth
GECA’s industry event centred around sustainable products, ‘Collaborate, Innovate, Celebrate’, was held on 3 March 2016 at the Lendlease Building in Sydney. It was great to see many professionals from the industry come to hear about the latest trends in sustainable production and consumption, the forthcoming ISO standard for Sustainable Procurement and GECA’s direction for the coming year.
GECA developing standard for cement and concrete products
Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is in the process of developing a new standard for cement and concrete products. The standard is currently going through a second round of consultations with a Technical Advisory Group, and a final version of the standard is expected to be released mid-year.
New licensee: Lybase
GECA's newest licensee, Lybase, is one of the first to take advantage of GECA's GENICES recognition in gaining their certification with us, and the first to have a lighting product certified with GECA.
