Product Marketing Name:  Tat-G Corp

Use and Application: Organic Digesters

Date of Certification: 15 February 2008

     1.   Description of the Technology.

Tat-G Corp was formed with a single goal in mind, to bring to the market innovative products by which others can contribute toward a sustainable environment while carring out their daily lives.

Tat-G Corp has focused on its range of Organic Digesters. The market has been demanding a solution to the organic waste flow into landfill. The Digesters are capable of stopping the flow where it is generated, with the range covering organic waste flows from 300 kgs / week through to 10000kg / week or more.

We provide professional expertise and support for our range of Organic Digesters, providing solutions from the farm through to commercial waste handling. Our experienced team can assist in assessment of your organic waste problem so that the correct solution is matched to your needs.

We have just launched a new service which is targeted at filling the gap between the small/medium and the larger waste stream generators. Typically the small to medium operators can not resource an internal a waste disposal function and rely on disposing of their waste to the local landfill via the council provided services.

However most do not want to dispose to landfill but are limited to this as no other option exists. This is where the Tat-G Green Genie Responsible Waste Handling Service fills the gap. Operators can now subscribe to the Tat-G Green Genie service and be assured that their environmental objectives are being met.

     2. The Products

Organic Digester: The STANDARD COMMERCIAL MODEL is capable of processing up to 350kg of mixed organic waste per week while occupying just 4.2 sqm of space. Compact and powerful this digester is a drop and go design meaning it requires no services i.e power etc. It only requires access to a hose to fill the on-board water tank from time to time. Available worldwide in fully erected form or knock-down ready for assembly on-site

The Industrial Model is a modular design, allowing a configuration to suit your need. From 2000kg per week up to 10000kg per week or more. It remains true to its origins with solar powered water reticulation available, also optioned with mains powered system if required. Can be placed into a basement or free standing.

Our TANDEM COMMERCIAL MODEL suits larger waste streams of up to 750kg per week of mixed organic waste. As per the Std model above, it requires no services ensuring that the cost of installation is absolutely minimal, it can perform equally as well out in the paddock or down that back of the yard, just requiring some sunlight for the solar panel to charge the on-board battery.

Core Environmental Criteria Tested:

Environmental Requirements

Core Environmental Performance Characteristics
Fitness for Purpose
Certified products should be good performers in their intended application. Certain standards of product performance are implicit in the label.
The Tat-G device is used to dispose of organic waste from a variety of sites including restaurant or hotel kitchens. The product Tat-G provides is self evidently fit-for-purpose, as it provides a route of disposal for waste. The technology is well established in Australia and installed at a number of locations. It uses earthworms to enhance the degradation and digestion process to enhance the breakdown of organic matter. The excess moisture and worm castings can then be used as fertilizers.
Overall Reduction of Environmental Load
The product shall exhibit an environmental improvement or have innate properties which demonstrate a significant reduction of environmental load compared to products which meet the same consumer use. This reduction must be related to the primary environmental loads of the product and not be limited to small or insignificant improvements.
The system run by Tat-G ensures that this waste is viably re-used, in the On-Site Organic Digester to produce fertilizer in the form of worm castings and liquids from the waste. The Digester is run entirely on renewable energy supplied by solar cells. Considering the large amounts of organic food based waste that is diverted to landfill the diversion of waste from this represents a significant Environmental load reduction. The added advantage or reincorporation the nutrients embodied in this waste stream to gardens or lawns represents another load reduction the device achieves, that of nutrient depletion.
Material Content Products shall not contain carcinogenic substances in categories 1, 2A as classed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer - IARC at levels which expose the user at a maximum level of 1/20th of the allowable limit determined by the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission and/or the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme. The main components of the Tat G are; bolted galvanized iron, a 5 watt solar cell and 7 amp hr battery, a small plastic housing for the 12 timer control unit and a small 360gal/hour pump. None of the substances used in this product are of concern to GECS under this criterion. No other substances or ingredients are used.
Consumer Information
It is a requirement of the Standard that the following be provided with the product/service: 1) Information on Continuous Environmental Improvement. 2) Power Management.
An inspection of the Tat-G Corp documentation including product and service information brochures shows evidence of the environmental preference of the Tat-G service. The On-site Organic Digester is powered entirely by the 5 watt solar cell.
