Technology.
Markant’s factories are certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for their Quality and Environmental Management Systems. These products are delivered to 350 dealers in Europe, USA and Australia.

Fitness for Purpose |
These Markant workstations are
manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified production facility and
are covered by a standard 10 year warranty, these products are
fit for purpose. |

Wood and other Natural Materials |
The wood based components of these
products are sourced from GECA certified suppliers. These
companies have previously demonstrated that they meet the
requirements of this criterion. |

Treatment |
The processed wood components are
not treated with fungicides or insecticides classed as type 1 or
2A by the IARC for carcinogenicity. |

Glues in Plywood and Laminated

The processed wood panels are
currently certified and thus conformance to the relevant
sections in the Standard has already been established. |

Air Emissions |
The processed wood panels are
currently certified and thus conformance to the relevant

Fabrics |
The manufacturer has acknowledged
and the license conditions stipulate that only fabrics assessed
according to the relevant Environmental Choice Australia
Standard requirements can be used in certified furniture. This
includes textiles certified as compliant to the Environmental
Choice Australia Mark, Nordic Swan, EU Flower, or those that
have been assessed in the scope of this assessment and found to
be in conformance with the relevant criteria in the GECA
Furniture and Fittings Standard. |

Adhesives |
The adhesives used for the
certified Markant Australia workstations are low VOC and do not
contain hazardous materials restricted by the GECA Adhesives
Standard. |

Hazardous Materials |
GECS has confirmed that no
hazardous or prohibited substances are added or used in the
production of these nominated products. |
|
Separability |
The certified Markant Australia
workstations are designed to be modular systems, easily
disassembled without the use of specialised tools or expertise. |
|
Product Custodianship |
Markant Australia offers a
conditional product buy-back scheme and also a product
stewardship policy. If products are not in a condition for
buyback and re-use the items are disassembled and sent for
recycling. |

Coatings and Treatments |
GECS has confirmed that no
coatings or treatments are used on these products that would
prevent their post consumer recycling. |
|
Replacement Parts |
Replacement parts are available
under the standard 10 year warranty. |
|
Packaging Requirements |
These products are packaged in
recyclable plastic that is not chlorinated or halogenated. |
|

The product information provided
at point of sale describes the instructions for use, care and
recycling at end of product life satisfying the requirements of
this criterion. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Markant range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations in the past 24
months.
