Description of the
Technology.
Interstudio Australia was founded in 2002 and is based on the philosophy of Interstudio Denmark, which has showrooms in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo.
The products represented in Interstudio’s loose furniture range are predominatly manufactured in Australia & Denmark, with other suppliers from Belgium & America & Indonesia.
The products assessed and included here however are manufactured in
Australia with one manufacturer in Indonesia (see Highback, Relax & Moon series)
Interstudio employs 11 people in Sydney showroom/ office and 2 staff in Melbourne showroom. Interstudio offers minimum 2 year commercial warranty on all products and 5 years minimum for products included in this assessment.

Fitness for Purpose |
The certified Interstudio products
have undergone relevant quality test reports. The commercial
warranty offered on the products is 5 years from the date of
invoice. |

Timber and Other Natural Materials |
GECS has received evidence of the
timber supply chain and species of the timbers used in the
production. The evidence shows that the timbers do not come from
controversial sources and meet the requirements of the
corresponding criterion in the Standard. |

Treatment |
The timber is not treated with the
prohibited fungicides or insecticides listed under this section
in the GECA Furniture and Fittings Standard. |

Emissions Requirements |
The formaldehyde emissions for all
wood components are below 0.5 mg/m2h. Testing done according to
ASTM D51-16 Small Scale Environmental determination of organic
emissions from indoor materials. |

Polyurethane Padding Requirements |
The nominated Interstudio products
are all upholstered with foam padding already certified under
the Environmental Choice Australia Eco-Label. |

Fabrics |
Interstudio is upholstering its
furniture and fittings in only GECA certified fabrics or fabrics
which have been assessed as part of this assessment and found to
not compromise the ability of the furniture and fittings to meet
the requirements of the GECA 28-2006 (Furniture and Fittings)
Standard. This ensures that the fabrics applied to the furniture
and fittings will comply with all requirements of GECA 28-2006
(Furniture and Fittings) Standard, including those sections that
apply regardless of the weight of the fabrics. |

Glass |
The glass in the Spin Table is
10mm clear float glass and does not contain any additives or
treatments restricted by the corresponding criterion in the GECA
Furniture and Fittings Standard. |

Adhesives |
The adhesives used in the
certified Interstudio products conform to the GECA Adhesives
Standard. |
|
Hazardous Materials |
There is none of the listed
hazardous or prohibited materials or heavy metals comprised in
the primary materials used to manufacture the nominated
Interstudio products. |
|
Separability |
The Certified Interstudio products
are sufficiently separable into constituent materials for
recycling. |
|
Product Custodianship |
Interstudio has adequate product
custodianship measures in place. |
|
Coatings and Treatments |
None of the coatings or treatments
used will prevent post consumer recycling. |
|
Replacement Parts |
Interstudio offer a replacement
parts policy for products that have parts subject to normal
wear. |
|
Packaging Requirements |
The packaging used conforms to the
corresponding section in the GECA Furniture and Fittings
Standard. |

Product Information |
Interstudio has released product
information for the certified products range that indicates
correct use, care and recycling at the end of product life. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Interstudio range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
