Description of the
Technology.
Hufcor Group is a leading manufacturer of partitioning systems for the Australian market and also export around the world. Hufcor Group has its headquarters and three manufacturing facilities based in Melbourne with another production facility in Queensland. The subsidiary company Kyissa Pty Ltd manufactures the five certified washroom cubicle ranges.
2. The Products
Hufcor Operational Wall Systems - Classic Series 8000: 100mm thick partition available in powdercoated or anodized aluminium frames.
Hufcor Operational Wall Systems - Pathfinder Series 5000: 75mm thick partition up to 5m in height, anodised or powdercoated aluminium frame.
Kyissa Flo-Line Washroom Cubicals: Profiled aluminium extrusions shield gaps between walls and panels for privacy.
Kyissa K1 Toilet Cubical: 33mm pre-laminated Structural Board with ABS edging, option for powdercoated aluminium frame.
Kyissa K2 Toilet Cubical: Available in 33mm or 18mm Structural Board. Overhead suspension eliminates floor supports enabling easier floor cleaning.
Kyissa K3 Toilet Cubical: Most popular design, stainless steel flashing and fittings. 33mm Structural Board panels.
Kyissa K4 Toilet Cubical: 18mm compressed cement sheets, most durable cubical system.

Fitness for Purpose |
Quality testing has been performed
by independent organisations a satisfactory standard for the
Australian commercial market. Warranty documents for both
product streams meet the requirements of this criterion in the
standard. Quality Assurance procedures are in place at various
stages of production and these procedures are documented. Hufcor
Group are certified according to AS/ANZ ISO 9001:2000 Quality
Management System. |

Timber and Natural Materials |
The timber materials used in the
Hufcor Group and Kyissa Pty Ltd certified products are sourced
from suppliers who are either already certified under the
Environmental Choice Australia Mark or who have PEFC / FSC
certified chain of custody in place. |

Treatment |
Wood is sourced from within
Australia and has not been treated with fungicides or
insecticides. |
|
Air Emissions |
Only E0 Particleboard, standard
MDF or laminated and edged E1 particleboard can be specified for
certified products. |
|
Plastics |
Only ABS edging can be used in
certified products. |
|
Fabrics |
Only fabrics already certified
under the Environmental Choice Australia Mark can be specified
for certified products. |
|
Adhesives |
The adhesives used in the Hufcor
Group and Kyissa Pty Ltd (subsidiary) certified products are low
VOC and conform to the requirements of this criterion in the
standard. |

Hazardous materials |
PVC edging, brass and chrome
fittings cannot be specified in certified products. These
aforementioned materials are non-compliant according to the GECA
28-2006 Furniture and Fittings Standard. No other materials are
used that do not conform to the requirements to the hazardous
materials criteria in the standard. |

Separability |
It was established during a site
inspection that the certified products are easily disassembled. |
|
Product Custodianship |
Hufcor Group accepts ownership of
the certified products at end of life. They can be returned for
recycling at no additional cost to the consumer apart from
transportation. |
|
Coatings/Treatments |
Hufcor Group and Kyissa Pty Ltd
certified products are not coated or impregnated in any way that
would prevent post consumer recycling. Except where the
treatment (lacquer, powdercoat, etc.) is applied in order to
further extend the useful life of the product. |

Replacement Parts |
Replacement parts are available as
part of the standard 5 year warranty. |
|
Packaging Requirements |
Certified products are packaged
with LDPE which is not halogenated and in recyclable in
mainstream resource recovery facilities. |

manual for certified Hufcor Operable Walls and Kyissa Washroom
Cubicles contains sufficient information to satisfy the
requirements of this criterion in the standard. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
No division of Hufcor Group has been prosecuted in an environmental court of law over the last 2 years. The contract powdercoater operates according to a trade waste permit for discharges into municipal sewage system.
The pay rates, workers compensation and OH&S policies are sufficiently in line with state regulations. Hufcor Group experienced two Work Cover incidents at its central manufacturing plant in West Sunshine. The matters have been addressed correctly, one of which is now fully resolved, the other is still active and being handled accordingly.
