Description of the
Technology.
Head Office Group, in operation for more than twenty years, manufactures systems furniture under the name of Tristat Pty Ltd, for the interior design and commercial
market. Tristat Pty Ltd manufactures aluminium base and frame components for the various desking, workstations and tables in their range. Tristat Pty Ltd also supplies a network of distributors in Queensland, ACT, Victoria and Western Australia.
Head Office Group has a proven history of using environmental
life cycle thinking as an exciting source of product innovation and
design direction. We actively manage environmental issues
throughout all aspects of our business.
Head Office Group integrates challenging environmental criteria
into all design and development projects. We use Life Cycle
Assessment studies to gain insight into product environmental
impacts, and to guide new product design minimising the overall
environmental impact of our products.
Head Office Group has environmental management programmes
addressing all stages in our product life cycles. These
programmes are integrated across Head Office Group Pty Ltd
business units.
Head Office products contribute to scoring for Green Star Office
Interiors rating. Please contact your local Head Office dealer for
Green Star product evidence documentation.
2. The Products
Sixty-Six: Designed and manufactured in Australia utilising European engineering, offers a strong yet lightweight frame supporting a range of different screen finishes and worktops to meet various workstation requirements.
Quad: Quad offers various design configurations.
Zone: Zone , slim line and robust system. The system is designed to be versatile and flexible with the minimum of materials.
Vie System: The 2009 Amendment included this new product into the certified Head Office Group range with the addition of zinc die-cast fittings.

demonstrated the fitness for purpose of the nominated products
and have in place a five year warranty valid from date of
delivery. |

Timber and Other Natural materials |
Head Office Group use MDF Panels
for worktops, the MDF products are currently certified under the
Environmental Choice Australia Ecolabel and thus meet the
requirements of this criterion. |

Plastics |
Perspex is used in the nominated
Head Office Group products and is the only plastic component
over 100g, Head Office Group has committed to affixing a resin
identification code sticker or having it clearly identified in
the relevant recycling type. |

Polyurethane Padding Requirements
|
Environmental Assurance confirms
that the polyurethane padding used in the nominated products
conforms to the relevant requirements of the corresponding
criterion in the standard.

Fabrics
|
Head Office Group is upholstering
its furniture and fittings in only GECA certified fabrics or
fabrics which have been assessed as part of this assessment and
found to not compromise the ability of the furniture and
fittings to meet the requirements o f the GECA 28 (Furniture and
Fittings) Standard. This ensures that the fabrics applied to the
furniture and fittings will comply with all requirements of GECA
28 (Furniture and Fittings) Standard, including those sections
that apply regardless of the weight of the fabrics.

Adhesives
|
The adhesive used in the
manufacture of the nominated products has been assessed and
Environmental Assurance confirms that the adhesive is in
conformance with the relevant requirements of the standard.

Hazardous Materials
|
None of the substances listed in
“Overall Loads” and “Prohibited Substances” criteria in
the standard are used in the manufacture of the certified Head
Office Group products.

|
Separability
|
The nominated Head Office Group
products are separable into constituent materials as required by
the corresponding criterion in the standard.
|
|
Product Custodianship
|
Head Office Group has in place a
product return policy for end of life products.
|
|
Coatings/Treatments
|
Environmental Assurance confirms
that there are no coatings or treatments that prevent post
consumer recycling of the certified Head Office Group products.
The only treatments used are intended to extend the useful life
of the product.

Replacement Parts
|
Replacement parts are available
for a minimum period of the 5 year warranty.

information available to end users of the nominated Head Office
Group products.

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Head Office range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
