Description of the
Technology.
Formway Distribution Ltd is a designer of office seating and furniture and distributor of furniture products throughout New Zealand and Australia as well as licensing products globally. Zenith Interiors are distribution partners in Australia. In addition to their range of workplace products Formway Distribution Ltd offer the following services: custom design, project management, IP licensing, and contract design. Formway Distribution Ltd Head Office and Design facilities are located in Wellington, New Zealand and showrooms are located in Auckland and Wellington, plus distribution across Australasia including design4work and CEMAC Commercial Interiors in New Zealand and ZENITH throughout Australia.

3.1. Fitness for Purpose |
These nominated Formway
Distribution Ltd products have demonstrated that they are fit
for their intended purpose by meeting the requirements of the
relevant furniture standards and are sold to the market with a
ten year warranty. |

3.2.1 Timber and Other Natural
Materials |
GECS has confirmed that the wood
materials contained in some of these nominated products have met
the requirements of this criterion. They are low in VOC’s and
have not been sourced from controversial sources or treated with
insecticides or fungicides. |

3.2.2 Plastics |
GECS has confirmed that all
plastic components with a mass greater than 100g have been
marked with the appropriate resin identification code for end of
life recycling. The Polyurethane foam contained in some of these
nominated products has been determined to have been manufactured
in compliance with the requirements of this criterion. |

3.2.3 Fabrics |
Formway Distribution Ltd
upholsters these nominated products with GECA, EU Flower or
Nordic Swan certified fabrics to ensure that the fabrics applied
to the furniture and fittings will comply with all requirements
of GECA 28:2006 Furniture and Fittings standard, including those
sections that apply regardless of the weight of the fabrics. |

3.2.4 Glass |
This criterion is not applicable
to these nominated Formway Distribution Ltd products as glass is
not a component. |

3.2.5 Adhesives |
The adhesives used by Formway
Distribution Ltd to manufacture these nominated products have
been found to comply with the requirements of this criterion of
the GECA 28:2006 Furniture and Fittings standard. |

3.3 Hazardous Materials |
GECS has confirmed that no
prohibited or hazardous substances as stated for this criterion
have been added or used at any stage during the manufacturing
process including the preparatory agents, cleaners and
degreasers of the production facility. |

3.4.1 Separability |
GECS has confirmed that these
nominated products can be disassembled without specialized tools
or expertise to facilitate the recovery of the constituent
materials for recycling. |

3.4.2 Product Custodianship |
Both Formway Distribution Ltd and
the Australian distribution partner Zenith Interiors have
product stewardship programs in place to ensure that these
nominated products will not be disposed of in landfill at their
end of life. |

3.4.3 Coatings and Treatments |
GECS has confirmed that these
nominated Formway Distribution Ltd products are not coated or
treated in any way that would prevent recycling. |
|
3.4.4 Replacement Parts |
These nominated products are sold
to the market with a ten year warranty ensuring that replacement
parts are available for this period. |
|
3.4.5 Recycled Furniture |
This criterion is not applicable
to these nominated Formway Distribution Ltd products as they are
not recycled furniture. |

3.4.6 Recycled Content
Requirements |
This criterion is not applicable
to these nominated Formway Distribution Ltd products as they are
not ceiling tiles. |

3.4.7 Packaging Requirements |
These nominated products are
packaged with plastic and cardboard, GECS has confirmed this
plastic has not been halogenated and is recyclable. |

3.4.8 Product Information |
These nominated products are sold
with a Product Stewardship Contract detailing end of life
recycling. Formway also makes available Care and Maintenance
Manuals and product brochures. The combination of all of this
available material demonstrates compliance to this criterion. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Formway range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
