Description of the
Technology.
Esselte’s head office is based in Connecticut America with subsidiaries in 33 countries throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Europe accounts for 55% of revenues, the United States and Canada contribute 40%, and Latin America and Asia Pacific generate the remainder. Esselte Australia is part of the Asia Pacific operating division. These Esselte Australia certified products are manufactured at an ISO9001 certified facility, located at Minto, New South Wales.

The manufacturing facility for
these licensed products holds an ISO 9001:2000 certification and
well-documented quality control procedures. Furthermore the
general market acceptance establishes the products as fit for
purpose in accordance with the requirements of this criterion. |

Recycled Content |
GECS has confirmed that these
licensed products contain 98% of recycled content exceeding the
requirement of 50% as stated in the standard for this criterion. |

Recyclability and Product
Stewardship |
GECS has confirmed that this
Earthwise Range can be returned to Esselte for recycling. The
products are labeled with information on how to return it at the
end of its life. |

Impregnations or coatings |
There are no coatings or
treatments applied to these licensed products that would prevent
their post-consumer recycling. |

Separability |
These Esselte Australia products
are made from homogenous material and do not have separable
parts; therefore this criterion is not applicable. |

Environmental Information |
The licensed products are marked
with appropriate resin identification codes for postconsumer
recycling. |

Hazardous substances |
GECS has confirmed that no
hazardous or prohibited substances are added or used in the
production of these nominated products. |

Packaging requirements |
These nominated products are
transported and delivered in recyclable cardboard, therefore
meeting the requirements of this criterion. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Esselte range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations in the past 24
months.
