Description of the
Technology.
DESSO has a long and rich history with origins in both the Netherlands and Belgium. It began in 1930 with a Belgian manufacturer that started producing woven carpets in Oss, the Netherlands, for residential and commercial applications. DESSO was introduced as a brand name in the early 1950's. Desso Australia specialises in carpet tiles and broadloom polymer carpets.

Desso has provided ISO14001:2004
and ISO 9001:2008 certificates for their manufacturing plants.
Desso has also provided seven external test reports for their
carpet tile and broadloom products. These test results show that
the sample products meet the requirements of EN 1307. The
nominated products are also covered by a 15 year warranty. |

Environmental Requirements for
Modular Carpets |
Desso uses water based, pressure
sensitive and low VOC adhesives certified as compliant by GECS.
None of the listed hazardous substances are used in the
manufacturing of this product. |

Waste Minimization and Management |
Desso has a product stewardship
policy in place with their take back program ensuring the
carpets will be recycled. The carpet tiles can be rotated
without damage and with all components of the backing system
remaining intact. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Desso range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations in the past 24
months.
