1.
Description of the
Technology.
Chair Solutions Pty Ltd distributes
seating for commercial environments. The company imports
around 70, 000 chairs per year and has a production
factory in Queensland.
Chair Solutions offer an advanced
recycling program. Plastics, metals and foam from
returned products are recycled. Chair Solutions will
also disassemble and recycle competitor’s products
when those items are replaced by Chair Solutions chairs.

Fitness for Purpose |
The Delta, Rexa and Domino chairs are AFRDI certified to level
6, and the Venice visitor chairs are certified to level 4.
Components of Chair Solutions products have been tested to
international standards.
All certified Chair Solutions products are sold with a five
year warranty. |

Plastics |
All plastic components (over 100 grams in weight) of the
certified chairs are marked with resin identification codes. |

Polyurethane Padding Requirements |
The Delta, Rexa, Essentia, Venice, Ola, Butterfly, Bodyline and
Smile use foams which are compliant with the requirements of
criterion 3.2.2.3 in GECA 28-2006. |

Fabrics |
Chair Solutions offer a range of fabrics for customer selection.
Fully certified chairs are those which are upholstered in
fabrics certified by Nordic Swan, EU Flower or which carry the
Environmental Choice Australia Mark. |

Adhesives |
Adhesives used by Chair Solutions are water-based and have a low
VOC. Chair Solutions has discontinued the use of solvent-based
glues. |
|
Hazardous Materials –Overall Loads |
Compliance to this criterion has been established through a
review of material safety data sheets (MSDS) for all production
ingredients.
The certification does not include chrome finishes. |

Prohibited Substances |
Analysis of the material safety data sheets for each of the
components and substances used in the manufacture of the
certified products has demonstrated that the Chair Solutions
products are not made using any hazardous substances |

Separability |
Chair Solutions products are easily disassembled into component
parts. |
|
Product Custodianship |
Chair Solutions have an extensive recycling program under which
returned products are recycled. This program extends to the
recycling of competitor’s products when being replaced by new
Chair Solutions products.
Products collected under the Chair Solutions Recycling
Program are disassembled into bases, gas, mechanisms, plastic,
foam and fabric. |

Coatings/ Treatments |
The certified products are not
coated or treated in a way which would prevent recycling.

Packaging Requirements
|
The packaging used is recyclable
and non-halogenated. Chair Solutions recycle cardboard and
plastic packaging wherever possible.

|
The product information supplied
to Chair Solutions customers includes instructions for correct
use, maintenance and recycling.

|
Environmental Regulations
|
Chair Solutions have provided
confirmation that the company has not been prosecuted in
relation to environmental breaches in the last 24 months.

Labour, Safety and
Anti-Discrimination |
Chair Solutions
have adequate workers compensation insurance and safety
procedures to establish compliance to labour and safety
regulations.
In the last 24 months, Chair Solutions has not been prosecuted
for violations of Labour, anti-discrimination or Safety
regulations and laws. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Chair Solutions range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
