     1.   Description of the Technology.

Autex Pty is an Australian manufacturing and product development company specialising in polyester insulation and other applications of advanced fibre technology. They supply a diverse range of consumer, commercial and specialty industrial products to markets all over the world. Established in 1967, Autex Pty Ltd is one of the largest producers of polyester insulation in Australia, with four manufacturing sites across the country. Autex manufactures and supplies a wide range of polyester thermal and acoustic insulation products, including the specialised acoustic Quietspace range of products. Autex has achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard certification and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification.

Greenstuf Range of Polyester Insulation: Residential and Commercial thermal insulation products.

Quietspace Acoustic Fabric: A 100% polyester wall lining

Quietspace Panel 25mm and 50mm: An acoustic panel that provides reverberated noise control

Quiet Workstation 6mm and 12mm: An acoustic screen

Environmental Requirements

Core Environmental Performance Characteristics
Fitness for Purpose These nominated Autex products comply with the insulation standard AS/NZS 4859.1:2002. In addition these products are covered with a 50 year warranty subject to terms and conditions.
Material Requirements These nominated Autex products are made from 100% polyester and 85% of this is recycled. No prohibited or restricted substances are used at any stage of production and none are present in the finished product.
Packaging Requirements These nominated Autex products are packaged in recyclable plastic with a visible resin identification code.
Product Information These nominated Autex products contain product information printed on the packaging that clearly states the installation requirements (AS3999), re-lofting requirements and storage time. In addition technical data sheets are available on Autex’s website.

Environmental Requirements

Core Environmental Performance Characteristics
Fitness for Purpose Autex has provided information that displays the product range meets recognized Australian testing standards for quality performance.
Polyester The production of the polyester does not exceed the limits of antimony content, VOC emissions and solvents used in the production.
Prohibited Processes An assessment of the ingredients and substances used to manufacture the nominated products has confirmed the absence of prohibited processes.
Prohibited Substances An assessment of the ingredients and substances used to manufacture the nominated products has confirmed the absence of prohibited substances.
Impurities in Pigments Autex has provided MSDS for all master batches used in the production and has confirmed that the impurities do not exceed the limit of the requirements.
Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Toxic to Reproduction Dyes A review of the MSDS of all ingredients shows that the master batches do not contain carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction substances.
Potentially Sensitizing Dyes A review of the MSDS of all ingredients shows that the master batches are not potentially sensitizing.
Packaging Requirements Information on the packaging has confirmed the content is 100% recyclable and no halogenated plastics are used in the production.

        3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:

 

GECA also found the Autex range to be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour, Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety regulations and environmental regulations in the past 24 months.
