     1.   Description of the Technology.

Being a manufacturer with the experience of over 20 staff, Arteil has the flexibility to custom make orders to particular requirements.

Gryphon Executive Adjustable arms: Larger office chair with adjustable arms.

Environmental Requirements

Core Environmental Performance Characteristics
Fitness for Purpose Arteil holds an ISO 9001:2000 certificate demonstrating evidence of their quality management system. A five year warranty is offered for all of the nominated products.
Wood and Natural Materials Arteil’s timber supplier has provided a current AFS certificate, indicating that the wood used is not from a controversial source.
Treatment Arteil’s timber supplier for the nominated range of products sources their timber from Australia and does not require treatment.
Glues in Plywood and Laminated Wood The Arteil approved products use plywood and have been checked to ensure they meet the requirements of the low formaldehyde emissions for this criterion.
Air Emissions The timber sourced for use in the certified Arteil products emit less than the limit set for formaldehyde emissions.
Resin Identification Codes Resin Identification codes are stamped on plastic components over 100g.
Polyurethane Padding Requirements These nominated products use foams that comply with the requirements of this criterion in the GECA Furniture and Fittings Standard.
Fabrics The manufacturer has acknowledged and the license conditions stipulate that only fabrics assessed according to the relevant Environmental Choice Australia Standard requirements can be used in certified furniture. This includes textiles certified as compliant to the Environmental Choice Australia Mark, Nordic Swan, EU Flower, or those that have been assessed in the scope of this assessment and found to be in conformance with the relevant criteria in the GECA Furniture and Fittings Standard.
Adhesives The adhesives used in the nominated products are low VOC and compliant with the requirements of the Adhesives criterion in the GECA Furniture and Fittings Standard.
Overall Loads A review of the production ingredients used in the manufacture of the products under assessment shows that none of the listed hazardous substances are used.
Prohibited Substances None of the listed prohibited substances are used in the manufacture of the certified products. Optional chromium components are not certified.
Separability Arteil have demonstrated that there is no barrier to separation into constituent materials for recycling.
Product Custodianship Arteil has provided a product custodianship policy. The policy states that all of the nominated products will be reused or recycled according to the suitability and condition of the chair.
Coatings and Treatments No treatment is applied to the certified Arteil products that prevents post consumer recycling.
Replacement Parts The replacement parts policy has stated the availability period of five years.
Packaging Requirements Arteil’s products are delivered in polyethylene bags and cardboard boxes. It has been established that no halogenated plastics are used and that all packaging materials are recyclable.

        3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:

 

GECA also found the Arteil range to be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour, Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety regulations and environmental regulations in the past 24 months.
