Description of the
Technology.
Anibou was founded in 1972 and
established in Australia in 1988 with the aim to
distribute high quality designed furniture. The products
are made in a way which helps to reduce environmental
impact of manufacture, from the production of raw
material to finished solutions for the workspace.
The company holds the ISO 9001
quality management systems certificate and the ISO 14001
environmental management systems certificate.
In addition, Anibou provides interior
design solutions for work offices and public
environments.
The Artek range of furniture that has
been awarded the Environmental Choice Australia Mark is
made using renewable wood materials sourced from
sustainably managed forestry operations.
2. The Products
Artek
Stools E60, X600, X601, 64, K65, 68, N65, 65: These
stools feature ‘L-shaped legs’ and are available in
various materials including certified birch ply,
certified veneers and recycled solid timbers. The stools
are stackable.

Chair 66, 400, 611: Artek (Aalto) designed series of
chairs with differently shaped backs and seats.

Standard Table 80A, 80B, 80C, 81A, 81B, 81C, 82A, 82B,
83, 84, 86, 95, 96, X800A, X800B, X800C, X800D. Artek
Round Table 90A, 90B, 90C, 90D, 91. Artek Extension
Table H92, H94, H98, H99, 97. : The table range features
dozens of standard sizes and five different surface
materials. These tables can be also combined with other
standard-sized tables so customers can design their own
homes and offices.

No hazardous treatments, pesticides, insecticides or fungicides

The formaldehyde content of glues in plywood and laminated wood
used for the Artek range is below the limit set in this
criterion (1.0% w/w). |

Air Emissions |
Formaldehyde emissions from the plywood and veneer materials
used in the Artek range are below the relevant limits set in the
standard. |

Polyurethane Padding Requirements |
The polyurethane padding used in the Armchair 400 contains no
hazardous material listed in the criterion. CFC, HCFC, HFC and
Methylene Chloride are not used. Analine based amines, and
pigments and catalysis based on mercury, lead, cadmium, and
chromium are not added to the padding material. |

Fabrics |
Certified fabrics are available in the options offered by Anibou
for the Artek range, fully certified products can be upholstered
in certified fabrics only. |

Adhesives |
The adhesives used in the certified products in the Artek range
comply with the GECA 01-2007 Adhesives Standard. |

Hazardous Materials |
None of the hazardous or prohibited substances listed in this
section are used in the certified Artek range of products
distributed by Anibou in Australia. |

Separability |
Where relevant, the certified Anibou products are sufficiently
separable into constituent materials for the purpose of
recycling. |

Anibou have a product custodianship policy for the Artek range

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found the Anibou range to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
