Description of the
Technology.
ACCO Australia’s headquarters is located in Sydney, along with a purpose built manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facility in Arndell Park. ACCO Australia currently supplies both the retail and commercial sectors with over 3,500 office product lines nationally. Their portfolio of leading brands includes Marbig, Crystalfile, Sasco, Derwent, Boone, NOBO, MACO, Kensington, and Rexel, among others.

Fitness for Purpose |
The manufacturing facility of ACCO
Australia is certified to ISO 9001:2000. The large volume of
these products sold is testimony that they are fit-for-purpose. |

Material Requirements |
These certified products contain
well above the minimum recycled material content requirements
for both the plastic and paper constituents. There is no barrier
to recycle this product range based on material attributes.
Resin Identification Codes are clearly displayed on these
products. |

Fibre Sources |
GECS has conducted an inspection
of a sample of the Clearview Insert Binder and found out that
the product does not contain virgin fibre. The remaining
products contain no fibre. |

Emission Requirements |
The recycled chip boards used in
the Clearview Insert Binder are not bleached; no chlorine is
used in the supplier’s paper board’s production. The
remaining products contain no fibre. |
|
Hazardous Substances |
Following a GECS audit of the
manufacturing plant it was concluded that none of the listed
hazardous substances are used in the manufacturing of these
products. |

Packaging requirements |
These products are packaged in
recyclable plastic and cardboard. No halogenated or chlorinated
plastic is used in this packaging. |

3. Environmental and Social Regulatory Obligations:
GECA also found ACCO to
be fully compliant with their obligations under Labour,
Anti-Discrimination, and Safety Regulations. The company
has not been the subject of prosecution in relation to
compliance with labour, anti- discrimination, safety
regulations and environmental regulations.
