What is the Green Procurement Database?
This database is a free resource of environmentally preferable products in Australia. The green procurement database takes a unique approach by providing meaningful and quantifiable evaluation of each product's environmental performance in addition to providing contact details and technical information about products. This database is an initiative of the Australian Environmental Labelling Association and the Australian Green Procurement Network as a showcase of green products and services available in Australia. Manufacturers can use this database to declare the environmental performance of their products or services. Products need to go through screening process before listed on the database. To submit your online application for screening service and list your products please Register Now .

Accuracy of Product Information
The information required by manufacturers in declaring the environmental performance of products on this database is based on key environmental loads of products from a life cycle perspective. The criteria selected as reportable information are based on a life cycle perspective and screened for capacity to easily report, relevance from an environmental performance, ability for manufacturers to influence these characteristics of their products by product redesign. The criteria are also selected for relevancy to mainstream products.
Environmental Data Quality is based on two general characteristics:
1) Independent tested and verified by the Good Environmental Choice Label.
2) Manufacturer information and test reports screened for accuracy in a preliminary way by the Australian Environmental Labelling Association Inc.
